Uses: mainly used in the production of anion exchange resin, but also as a solvent and special fuel. Its solubility is stronger than that of ether and acetone, and the mixture of methanol and azeotrope can dissolve nitrocellulose with high nitrogen content. However, because its vapor has strong anaesthesia, it is not suitable to be used as a general solvent, usually as a special acoustic solvent. It is also used in the manufacture of spices, the production of artificial resins, and as a reaction medium for Grignard reaction and Repa (synthetic) reaction.
