Production method: add phthalic anhydride into concentrated sulfuric acid, heat to 80 ℃ with steam under stirring, add fuming nitric acid drop, maintain reaction temperature at 100-110 ℃, heat above 110 ℃ for 2 h, place overnight, pour into water and filter. The filter cake was recrystallized with water to give 3-Nitrophthalic acid. The yield is about 30%.
